I started Brand KBD because I have a passion for solving problems and training others.  I have worked with Fortune 200 clients, small startups, billion-dollar brands, and billion-dollar startups.  My areas of expertise include strategy, brand/product management and positioning, product and commercial innovation, P&L delivery, primary research, healthcare sales aids, and shopper and e-commerce marketing.  Prior to Brand KBD, LLC:

 

Procter & Gamble (14 years)

  • Marketing Director in Guangzhou, China for Oral Care, P&L, innovation, and sales across China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan

  • Global lead for Crest Pro-Health new products, concepts, and marketing plans

  • Led the Pampers brand P&L delivery and new product testing and launches

  • Associate Marketing Director for all P&G brands on the Target customer team

  • Brand Manager on the Walmart customer team

  • Developed and led training for hundreds of ABMs and Brand Mangers

Abbott Nutrition (3.5 years)

  • VP of Marketing, Innovation, and Analytics for Therapeutic Nutrition

  • Owned the P&L, marketing plans, new products, and sales materials for Ensure, Glucerna, and ~30 tube-feeding products

  • Responsible for hospitals, outpatient, retail/e-commerce, and consumer marketing

  • Owned all consumer digital marketing, CRM, healthcare economics, and healthcare marketing

  • Led marketing research strategy for consumers, healthcare professionals, and shopper marketing

  • Helped initiate, develop, and lead Abbott Nutrition Marketing University for all marketing staff

IBM Consulting (3 years)

  • Senior Consultant for retail, strategy, and category management

My unique approach to running a business includes applying a disciplined process to managing a product and ensuring you understand the Key Business Drivers of awareness, trial, and repeat. I want to help your team take a focused approach to running the business and managing your brands and products.

I have a Marketing degree from Ohio State, an MBA from Indiana University, and recently completed a certificate in Digital Marketing from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University. I also guest lecture in the MBA program at Ohio State and actively work with Rev1 (startup incubator). I live in the Columbus, OH area with my wife and three children. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, travelling, coaching my kids’ teams, golf, and riding (cycling is too strong of a word) in Pelotonia to raise funds for cancer research.
